    Hi!

I heard about your forum on the Bay Area Riders Forum (or BARF, as we call it), and thought I'd check it out! I live in Northern California, ride an '03 GSX-R1000, and ride street and track... this year, the plan is a track day a month! Big Smile

I'm still recovering from an injury.. tore the piriformis muscle in my left butt cheek (yes, I have a broken ass!), but it's finally healing up, and I think my first trackday is going to be in May, at Reno Fernley, which is my favorite track!! 32 turns... ah bliss!!

    Re: Hi!

Thank you! The closest track to me is Infineon... they used to call it Sears Point. I'm looking to do a track there the end of June. A friend of mine I ride with had a terrible wreck, it shattered his foot, but he's had reconstructive surgery, and after several months on crutches, has graduated to a cane. That's going to be his first track day since he crashed last summer, so quite a few of us are doing that track day to celebrate his triumphal return to the track. I've never ridden Infineon, but it's supposed to be incredible, and I'm really looking forward to it!

Next closest would be Laguna Seca down in Monterey, where they run the Moto GP races.

Then you have Thunder Hill up north, and Reno Fernley in Nevada, and Button Willow down south. All those are about 4 hours from where I live.

My favorite track is Reno Fernley... all hard tight turns, 32 of 'em, and probably 90% of those turns have a corresponding corner on Mines Road, which I ride a lot. Mines is a little slice of vicious heaven... people get airlifted off it on a pretty regular basis, it actually happened on one of the rides I'd pulled together. People ride over there abilities on that road and it bites them in the ass. 50 miles of tight hard corners, with liberal sprinklings of gravel in the corners, suicide squirrels, irate ranchers driving dodge duellie pickups, blind corners, and several miles that are single lane. Not to mention uneven pavenment, ripples, and the occasional herd of cattle wandering down the road! It's the Wild West, baby! I love it!

You seeking medical attention for your track addiction?

Naahh... I'm all good with it! I only did two last year... and one of them (11/25) I was freshly "broken" (see post re: broken ass), so I was basically a rolling road block!! So I hella sucked on that track (T-Hill), so I have to regain some respect there!! lol... This year I hope to do at least one a month! Big Smile  I like being addicted...

Welcome, from one newbie to another.

California - that'll be where the sunshine is... [goes to window to look at dreary, grey English weather]. Hmmph! No fair! Wink
