Re: sportsbiker at Mallory - Report

Kwack, I think Saturdays picture shows better body position that the earlier pic, On the yellow bike you hardly moved off the bike and too central to the bike for the corner, Saturdays pic shows to me a more relaxed upper body with better position of the upper body. I think you should more off the bike though.

And lean angle comes with speed, but when the speed picks up you want to keep the bike as upright as possible to keep it on the fatter part of the tyre for more grip.

Cheers Bones.  I was thinking more about my upper body and relaxing my arms. When that becomes second nature then I'll start to move the lower half.

    Triples are the future, baby!

    Kwacky:

I don't like Edwinas. I could feel myself tense up each time I got close to the corner.

I really liked  Edwinas. In fact that day no part of the track was particularly bothering me - just my own body position letting me down.

Here's me going round the Esses, with the same body position as going to the shops.  And I am actually shifting there - but it dont look like it. Confused

    Kwacky:

There's only one half decent shot of me.  The ones of me at Gerrards are from the first session and it looks like the siting lap as I'm almost upright.

I blame the Daytona - its too tall a bike. Stick out tongue

sitting on Peter's ZX6R did highlight just how tall these bikes are.  There must be about 8 inches height difference

I was admiring the lean angle in that early shot and then noticed the worn crash bobbin on one side! Did that come at cost by any chance?

Bah!  The photographer must have missed my lap, so I'll have to post an older one from Gerrards when I used to be quicker Stick out tongue

However, I've just uploaded a vid from D6's bike.  Crap quality because of all the conversion software I had to use to get an asf file to play on Vista.

Bah!  Youtube has rejected it cos it's 1 min too long.....gimme a few mins to edit it and upload again.

    EDIT.  Here it is:

Thx for that RR, D6 must have got bored of seeing my ass. Great footage D6, I should have had one on the back to record you too.

Do you have another RR? Think there were a couple of sessions were my and D6 had a good fight.

Your laps were around the 1 min 15 to 1 min 20 there, D6 and DA which is pretty good for novices i would say.
