Melandri was the 250cc world champion four years ago

Honda's Marco Melandri powered to his second win of the season at the French Grand Prix as Yamaha's Valentino Rossi was undone by more technical problems.

Italian Melandri weaved his way past the Honda of race leader Dani Pedrosa on lap 24 to take top spot.

Ducati's Loris Capirossi took second with Spaniard Pedrosa in third

Mondello Park round is cancelled

Jonathan Rea was fourth in final qualifying

The fifth round of the British Superbike Championship at Mondello Park has been cancelled because of persistent heavy rain at the circuit.

Organisers made the decision after the course became flooded. The series will now be run over 12 rounds.

The abandonment comes as a big disappointment for thousands of Irish fans who were enjoying their only chance to see the top stars in action.

The next round will take place at Mallory Park on Sunday, 4 June

I have set up an RSS feed now from the BBS Motorbike section you can find it by clicking the Roller button on the big grey menu at the top.

I will add some more feeds to this let me know if you know any good ones Motorbike Superbike Racing etc. kind of stuff. I'll patch it though to the home page as well so we can get quick glances at the latest results ect from the various racing championships.

The Trackday, Ridouts Meetups calendar should be published sometime this weekend all being well but I have just this minute had news that I'm a grandad again (3rd one) so I have a new grandson to go and look at over the weekend.
